on my peak nebula how do i check my timing on my end bell there are 7 lines on the can there are 9 i want to det my timing back a bit

Well, the only accurate way to check & adjust it is to pick up a timing gauge. Really, they're pretty cheap, & very effective, so there's no reason not to buy one. Racetech & Fantom both make one, & there may be others, too, so it should be pretty easy to find.... :)

There is an easier way...

Take a piece of tape, stick it lightly to the table, and mark it every millimeter for about 15mm. Take the tape of the table, and align the zero mark on the tape with the center of either magnet. There is almost always an indent in the can just to the left of the brush hood that is aligned dead center of the magnet. Meassure from this indent in the can to the center of the brush hood (usually a tab on the molded part of the endbell just below the brush hood to better identify the center of the brush hood). Each millimeter equals about 3 degrees of timing. So if the brush hood is 7mm to the right of the indent at the center of the magnets, you have approx. 21 degrees timing. :D
