Check the topic, "radio shack batterys", believe it or not their good practice packs, or just fun packs. For that matter they would be dandy for club racing. Learn how to drive the wheels off, and batteries won't be such a major deal. In some stores they are moving 2000mah NICD's, and all of them are now carrying 3000mah NIMH's. Not too shabby for 35 bucks. Beats Trinity's 120 bucks a pack. I'll buy the matched battiers when I need to. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

I would get batteries like Trinity 2400...that kind works really great http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif...but right now I have two Dynamite batteries, a 1500 and a 1700 http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/frown.gif...the best battery I have now is the 1700 battery, which I use to race and the 1500, I use to practice...but it ***** http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/mad.gif.

chizzler, i have not ordered any from them yet. i kind of wondered that too, but they are sub c sanyo cells, and they say for r/c vehicles, so i would hope for the best, but still be cautious. if i do decide to order from them, i might just order 6 see how they are and then order more. but for now, i am going to check out one of those radio shack 2000 for $12 that people have been talking about. (i am just bashing right now!!)

Guys try www.promatchracing.com, (http://www.promatchracing.com,) and www.elitespeedproducts.com, (http://www.elitespeedproducts.com,) and www.speedtechrc.com. (http://www.speedtechrc.com.) I have ordered 2400's and 3000's from these places in the past, with great sucess. They have good numbers on their cells, and are a lot cheeper than Trinity batteries!

Another good choice is Ballistic batteries..
Check them out at http://www.ballisticbatteries.com
I have had good luck with them, as well as Pro-Match packs.

Chizzler,
I had some pretty good luck with the 1700's and 2000's, but good 2000's are getting difficult to find.
In terms of racing - I have never had any trouble with either type, I prefer the 2400's now, but I also run mod once in a while, so it is needed. Running a stock motor, those packs should be just fine.
In terms of a store...just pick one. All of the cells come from the same place. Once in a while you will get a bad pack, or one that does not have as high of a voltage as another, but I wouldn't worry too much about it unless you are a top tier racer. I am not, so I don't put too much stock into getting the best batteries, I just like to get my money's worth. Most places will sell a good pack for around $50. A sport pack generally will be lower than that too.
Hope this helps!!
