my T3 hasnt been used for awhile (about a month or two) and i went to use it and i noticed a huge drop in the cars top speed and acceleration. The only modifications i made was a trinity 3000 6-cell team matched (90$) opposed to the 7-cell 2400 i got for 54$ that recently blew up in my face. is it time for a comm cutting? I also changed the brushes thinking it might of been them, but no improvement. I run a 15T D4.

Oh yeah, also my slipper clutch was set wrong, could it be my diff? Im getting kind of annoyed cause a stock rtr t3 just went faster than my 15T powered, 3000 powered graphite chassis t3 truck did lol :D

Kinda sounds like all of the above to me. The more powerful your motor is(& a 15 turn, for example is much more powerful than a stock motor) the more often you need to rebuild it. If you don't know how many runs you've done since the last time it was rebuilt, then I'd go ahead & do it as a precaution. Also, go ahead & tighten down your slipper some, you shouldn't have to run it terribly loose or else it may prevent you from achieving full speed. And for the battery, a 7 cell pack will always put out more power(voltage) than a 6 cell pack, & it definitely makes a difference in speed. Plus, unless you bought some Stock Metal Hydrides, then your pack's voltage will be lower than you'd get from a similar pack of 2400's, that's just the way they are(& some still believe that SMH's still don't completely match up with NiCd's for punch, but I don't have any SMH's so I can't verify that). One more thing, how do you have your truck geared? If its undergeared(either too small a pinion, or too big a spur, or both)then your speed will certainly be down, so you might rethink that too...... :)

thanks, they are stock metal hydrades. I think it might be the comm, so i guess i have to make the hour drive to the only hobby shop around who trims comms. im also going to check my diff, maybe i need to rebuild it. i also run my slipper pretty loose, ill try running it tight.

lol i have tons of stupid rc stories (like today when i sprayed motor cleaner all over myself to get the oil off and then read the warning label :avoid skin contact. and washed my hands like twenty times.) What happened was i overcharged it (this was before i got my peak charger. I was racing hard and then i noticed a smell. I took my body off and saw the shrink wrap on the battery melting before my eyes. i took it out, it was so hot i dropped it. the bars were so hot they were red and i picked it up with plyers and i was going to put it in front of a fan or something. well the plyers pushed down on the bar and the bar melted onto the paper saying 2400. The paper lit on fire and soon the 7th cell fell off, hit the ground while flaming and boom. it was kind of cool, if u leave out it was my best battery and i was forced to use a half charged 1800 for the rest of the night while everyone else was using 2400 or 3000s lol it sucked!
