Hi!
I asked for help for the first time about a month ago.I'm new to RC and I have many questions about RC's but now I would like to ask a question about rally cars.As I was browsing the manufacturers webpages I started to like the replicas of Subaru Impreza WRC's and I found 2 companies which makes them. First is HPI and second is Kyosho. The prices are for both cars pretty much the same but the car from HPI is not assembled and it has no electrics in kit to come along. The Kyosho car is RTR - it has everything I would need for starters. Now I would like to ask which company should I prefer or aren't the companies that important in my choice?Should I choose simplicity over reliability or..Please help me choose.Which kit would you buy and why?

Go Kyosho, not because it's RTR, but IMO they build a better product.

Go with the HPI Rally. You have more parts support, built like a Chevy(Like a Rock). Can be easily raced and modified if needed. The Kyoshos are fine, they just look a little "cheesy". No offense to anybody, that's just how it appeals to me. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/cool.gif

Just the thought of HPI makes my blood boil! LOL http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I haven't had any luck with HPI kits, im not saying they are not good it just seems that i haven't had much luck with em. And Kyosho does look a little cheesy! I race off-road my-self and i stick with Losi & AE cuz i haven't had a problem with them yet. But if i were you id go with the one from HPI, the reason is its not RTR and you have to build it (and this is a very good thing) because you get to know your car and if something goes wrong you will be able to fix it......and if im not mistaken the Kyosho comes with a MSC instead of a ESC. Your going to have to buy a good ESC anyway. Its up to you...i like the look of HPI's bodys.

Also i would think more Hobby Shops would carry HPI parts more then they would Kyosho.....well they are not reall popular where i live. Check it out at your Local Hobby Shop and see which one they carry parts for.

Also, check out the Yokomo MR-4 Rally, the TC3 w/ rally conversion(2 cars in one!) and the Team Losi Rally Weapon, they are more, but you will be glad to spend more cash up front, trust me...
