Hey guys,
A while back I posted in the XXX-T forum about what was a good way to make my car go faster, what size pinion should I go with and such. One member recommended going 6 teeth over the motor. For example, if I were to have a 10turn motor I should use a 16tooth pinion. Worked great. My cars reached top speed, I got good life out of my motors, not too much heat on the motor. So I decided to keep using this advice.
Well, I picked up a 27turn motor so I could race stock class. Then without thinking, bought a 33tooth pinion. Well, the pinion is TOO LARGE, it won't fit w/ the stock spur.
My question is now, should I try to up the spur size and go with a smaller pinion or buy a smaller spur and use this 33tooth pinion? Which would be the better way to go? Also, how do I know which spur is the ideal spur for me to use?
