I just bought a Novak Millenium and can't figure how to charge Ni- HD batteries due to the lack of instructions (the one sheet doesn't give much info.) It says to charge the batteries linearly but it only has Linear mode in Ni-CD and that the Ni-HD is only for AA batties... NEED HELP.

If you look at the instructions, it tells you that you can charge sub-c NiHM on the NiCd linear charging mode. This is how i charge my SMH's. You have to lower the volt threshold to 4mv/cell so they dont get overheated. You also should charge at a relatively low(NO MORE than 4 amps, which is still a little high) amp rate. Hope that helps and if you need anything else just ask.

I disagree that Novak's one sheet of instructions isn't enough. They are VERY thorough in explaining how to use the Millenium. I read it once and haven't needed to look at it again since.

Anyway, yes, charge NiMH batteries in the Linear mode. Yes, change the Voltage threshold to 4mV. 4 amps max? I disagree. I know MANY people who charge their NiMHs at 5 amps (including myself) on their Millenniums with no problems. These high-end chargers are made to work fine with NimHs and there's no risk of damage when charging at 5 amps with a Voltage threshold of 4mV.
