Hey,

About 3-4 years ago I put together an HPI Pro 3. I also have a Futaba MJ T2PHKA.

Anyway, I killed the motor I had in the thing so I need to get a new motor. Back in the day brushless was out of the question, but I with the prices now, its is an option for me.

I pretty much run the car just for fun. Anyway, where do I begin.... I have a Super Brain 959 which I'm replacing with a Millenium Pro.

I guess what I'm asking is... I need new batteries, I need a new motor (do I go brushless or not, I had a P2k2 Pro but I think I want more speed this time), should I replace the stock esc and receiver that game with my futaba radio?

Anyway, those are the questions I have for now to start with.

Thanks

If you go brushless you'll definately want new batts. I just hooked up a Mamba Max 5700 system in my XXX-T and I can tell the batts I'm using (which are old/bought 2nd hand 3300s) are definately hampering it. Even if you want to stay with a brushed, you're better off with new batts simply because of capacity. Ultimately, only you can decide which way to go, but if you're only bashing, I'd suggest brushless because there's little to no maintanence, with brushed you will have to change brushes, springs, maybe have the comm cut, etc...all in due time sure, but you will have to do these things. The Mamba Max systems are going for around $200 @ online shops, you're LHS would likely be a little more...but then you'll have them to go back to when problems arise. As for the Tx/Rx...there's no need at all to swap Rxs...the question might be the radio, however. I know nothing of the features it has. The features that help the most are End Point Adjustments, servo reverse. If it has these, then you should be fine. If perchance you do want to upgrade to a more modern, newer system, I have something for sale you could look at. It is a JR XR2I. This is an AM computer system on the 75MhZ band, channel 76. It has E.P.A and servo reverse as well as 2 model memory among other nice features. This is a brand new Tx/Rx, never used. I took it out of an RTR Losi XXX-T and installed my personal favorite Tx, the Nomadio Sensor. Id let the XR2I system go for only $50 shipped. LMK if interested. Also any questions you may come up with, will be glad to try and help out.
