Is it true that you have to have an hour between the discharge and the recharge of NiMH cells? How long should you wait for NiCads? How many charges per day can each take?

They both should have no morethan 2 charges a day and the NiMH has no memory and the NiCD's do but I have the sanyo 2400's and they are NICD but they are great cells if you take care of them.

In general, you don't want to start recharging the pack until it cools to room temperature.
You'll be better off with MH if you plan on running a battery more than once or twice a day.

Only problems with NiMH cells is that the IR is higher than most matching devices would have you believe. Let's say you have two packs with 20amp numbers, matched by the same guy using the same equipment and all of that stuff. Both are 1.15 volts with 430 seconds of runtime and IR is 21 on both packs. But one pack is a pack of Sanyo 2200 NiMH cells and the other is a pack of second-generation Sanyo 2400 NiCd cells. While the numbers would have you think they'd perform identically on the track, the 2400s would have a bit more punch - for some reason a 20 IR NiMH cell and a 20 IR NiCd cell are noticeably different in punch, even if the voltage is the same.

NiMH all the way
I take great care of my NiCD batteries, re-matching them and deep discharging them. But I have found that I run the hell out of my NiMH and the numbers on my millenium are still at about 2996 mah. I mean like 4 times a day, and no discharging them =)
The new batteries are animals!
Of course, I have heard that even though the new batteries dont have a memory, you should still discharge them and go ***** on them by giving them a break =)
