i personally like the car itself, but i dont like that the spur gear strips on hard turns.

I have 2 of them. If you run mod the stock chasis ain't enough. If you upgrade to the penguin chasis not only will it look cool, but it will receive the stiffness it needs. I like it a lot!

The Pro2 is better, the Pro3 is a Toys R' Us car.
Made for one purpose: generate hop up sales. At least that is what my buddy told me :p

I had a pro 2 and the pro 3 is way better. Easier to drive. I do admit it is used to generate hop up sales, but not when it's from penguin. That's really the only upgrade it needs. other than a one way. :) Once the chasis is changed it's sweet.

Penguin is a brand, that makes anything, and everything graphite, for a whole MESS of cars available, I think it is www.penguinrc.com (http://www.penguinrc.com) but, I am not sure, they have ads in RCCA, just look in the advertiser's index

Had one for a few months now. Easy to tune, drives well out of the box. Never stripped a spur gear, nor heard of any problem with that. Chassis does flex (there are extensive gripe threads on HPI's forum about flexibility of car). Was designed that way. Works good on the bumpy old asphalt parking lot I race on. If you are one of those people who believe that a car can not do well if the chassis flexes, then this car is not for you, unless you feel like shelling out the dough for an aftermarket chassis.
First generation a-arms and outdrives are prone to breakage. HPI will replace those for free with updated parts.
Love the center battery tray. I think that contributes greatly to its nimble handling.
Complaint: Can't seem to get enough acceleration. Top end is good though.
I've only been racing since May of this year, and consistantly finish in the A-main. Usually in 2nd-5th place. One 1st place finish.

They will replace all first generation outdrives with the new version. If you are really nice to them you might even be able to get more than one set. They gave me a second set when I called and nicely complained about how the new outdrive ring popped off during a minor crash causing the cvd to tear up the outdrive a little. Now I glue the rings on.

do you have their number off hand, i got mine pretty much when they released them, so i know its the older version because it came with the first generation arms...
