Is it a good investment

There is an oval track at this hobby store i went to and he convenced me to get an oval car. It looks like fun but to be competitive, i have to buy expencive motors, lathe and tire truer. I like off road but these cars are fast and exciting and the only form of rc car compition around where i live. Does anyone know what is a good oval car? Is it a good investment or should i just get a gas off road truck which i also wanted? I cant dicide. :confused:

I'm in a situation just like you my freind keeps wanting me to buy differant rc's, and you know what i did i stopped listening to his suggestions and decided on my own to get a rally, to him that was outragous, but I liked it, It's pressure do what you like not what somebody else likes, you to do. ;)

I am with mattski. Do what you want to do, you will enjoy the hobby more. But if you get a oval car, get a RC10L3 oval.

Thanx guys, i have to say i like off road better so im going to get a gas off road truck. Though it was fun to watch and they are very fast, taking lefts just dosent seem worth all of the money that it would take to be competitive. Plus, i would only be able to use it at the track which would be once a week. I couldnt handle the suspence and with an off road vehicle, i can turn left AND right. If i get more money i may get into ovel racing but for now, off road all the way!!! :D

Do what you want. I know that may not be much help, but I think it is. What you want is what you should do. If you want to be able to run just about anywhere, the truck is for you, whether gas or electric. THE CAR WILL ONLY BE DRIVABLE ON HARD, PAVED SURFACES. Just my opinion. Choose wisely- you'll have it for a bit. Also, consider looking online, like at towerhobbies.com and stormerhobbies.com, for better pricing on kits and rtr's.
