Why do spektrum Radios work well in cars, but give trouble in Boats ????
I just sold all my cars, bought a boat, put in the Spektrum Radio and it gave trouble. Had to replace it....

You must be up elevated above water level to use a spectrum. I put a one in two of my boats and on the drivers stand OK but once I go down to the waters edge the fail safe kicks in at about 200 ft.
I havent had a problem with mine on the stand or the ground, stick the RX under the radio box lid so you can get most of the areial out and it should work fine. Also use a good quality 6V battery pack for the RX and the voltage capasitor that spectrum make that plugs into the third channel.

Have seen Voltage Capacitor. I believe it is to stop small glitches.
This is what i found out about it io the Spaktrum website.
Spektrum's new Voltage Protector prevents a DSM receiver's voltage from dropping below the proper operating level in lower voltage applications such as 4-cell 1/12 carpet racers. Installation is as simple as plugging it into an open channel slot on the receiver unit

Can it be hooked up if you use the third channel? Maybe a splitter. I run the Spektrum system with the fuel mix channel. I had problems with my sysetm this summer, but found out my antt. wire connection on the RX had some broken wires. Out of the box the RX runs the antt. wire out the top. But tells you about routing it out the side. The side hole is smaller and holds the antt. wire from working loose or breaking the connection from the circuit board.
