I'm hoping for over 100 with my new custom SNRS4. Standard size NRS4 with all the goodies and the biggest gears - 64 mph.

Factory Team-its my TC3, ok well Associated's TC3 with everything as light as possible. 6 turn single, over 70mph average in a veldrome or bike arena what ever it was

Cuss out the turn marshals because they cussed at you!!!
Crashing is an art of driving that goes bad in result in human or mechanical error.
I think they used to run 85-90mph in 1 minute speed runs. They used to run it down in Florida with 1/10 pans. I think it was Whippoorwil Speedway.

I remember the insane speed run articles in RCCA quite fondly. If I remember right, back then the tires weren't quite up to the task and would often disintegrate halfway through a run ... this is about the time that TRC(?) started making belted/capped tires. I also remember the story of the 6 inch tall pan car that found its way under a 3 inch tall gap between the track and the barrier. It was a complete total, except maybe for the wheel nuts.
The guys were running AstroFlight drag motors, and (later on) Aveox brushless motors. I've been thinking about the Aveox thing lately ... geared properly for 4-5 minute runs, I wonder how it would compare to today's hot modified motors. The fast R/C boat guys LOVE them, and run them on 12 to 18 cells with good results. Of course, I have no idea if it would bolt into my RS4, but it could be interesting if it did. Smells like a good candidate for an RCCA Project Car. Whaddya think?

That 6 turn single of JP's ought to make a pan fly! I would bet that a pan car, with a hot mod motor like that, geared so high that there is very poor accelleration in favor of top speed, would reach 100mph.

My XXX-T can reach 40mph with a D4 9x3, the esc is a novak dually and, the gearing is 15/88.
with a P2K pro it got 25 with gearing at 21/88.

the speed record for a oval track is 94.2MPH set by Cliff Lett. For straight line top speed it's about 120MPH set with a dragster on a 300 foot strip.
