are motors in electric r / c cars supposed to get hot ??? my hobby manager says they shouldn ' t but my friend ' s truck and my truck get hot like you wouldn ' t believe . we both have novak explorer 2 and a traxxas stinger motor which came with the RTR . please help with what the problem is . i ' m new to the hobby !!!!!!
They ' re suppost to get pretty warm , but not hot . I know what your problem is though . The new ESC you got is meant to run with stock and some mod motors . It requires the use of 3 capasitators which came with the esc ( the little plastic thing with 2 metal wires hanging out ). Your hobby shop is and isnt right . I suggest as soon as you have enough money to get a stock motor that has 3 capasitators built in , such as the P2K . Capasitators are meant to ... umm ... i forgot ... but i know that before I got a stock motor with capasitators with my new esc , the motor got really hot and some things were melting . The P2K is a fast stock motor that the directions are these : 1 install 2 drive . I think youll notice that your esc and motor will run cooler if you get the P2K .
