the RTR comes with the d-box if your skills arent up to par yet
it loves lenolium, smooth concrete, and hardwood
It isent so great on Rough asphalt tho :(

I can't speak from experience, but from what I have heard/seen its not that difficult to learn, especially if you have the D-box installed to help you out. It does take some practice, but the person I know who has one of these things was able to figure things out pretty quickly. You can also adjust the D-box settings so that as you start to learn how to drift better on your own you can tune it out. Its also handy when your driving on different surfaces.

I know some people think the drift box is "cheating," but I don't really care. These little drifters sure look like fun. Besides you can always take the box off, tune it out, or get the kit and not install one at all ;)

does it use 1/10th scale electronics or micro size?

-micro speed controller and servo

-micro 2/3 amp battery (you can use aaa, or aa's with the battery tray)

-you can use any reciever and transmitter!

check hpi's website (http://www.hpiracing.com/index2.htm) under the micro on road section for more details.

i used an old team losi mini-t esc/reciver unit and servo

RC drifting is a challange, but a blast once you get the "hang" of it

micro drifting is as easy as it can possibly get, and the pre built HPI micro drift car is a blast right ot of the box. The dbox does make it easier for the n00b and can be turned down as your skill increases. But its still 100% duable without the aid of the gyro.
