Uh, one word for you, PUNCTUATION. I think you are saying that you want a high-performance 12 motor w/ specs. check out the Orion Revolution v2 (http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXFSW6&P=7) Team Orion makes some really good motors.

the reason your probably getting bored may be lack of maintenance, the reedy KR is a world class motor (it has won the worlds on more than one occasion) soi dont see how you could be bored of it...

Wut do you mean lack of
maintance.I clean rebuild
and take care of all my motors.
Could it be my esc is burnin up?
It makes noise when i turn it on
like makes noises barely moves
before i press the throttle.When
i press the brake it stops. My esc
is a duratrax streak . Im also going
to look into the specs and see
about this motor. It was going to
be my next choice, but i cant find
a spec chart on tnat motor, and again
Thanks.

hey man I just picked up a 10t double for under $30, plus a set of enduro brushes which will last along time between having the comm cut

heres the motor
this is an 11t

heres the enduro brushes

for the price you can't go wrong with this setup

a descent speedo does really help get more out of the motor.
If you maintain your motor then ok i cant complain then. my bet though is that the comm is in need of a skim, since you say your a newb im guessin you dont have a lathe, if you dot then they is probably why they get so low performin, they need skimming, especially these low wind hot motors.
If you get it skimmed theyle perform close to new.

Oh and damn those ravens look good for 17 bucks!

Team orion does make some magnificent motors!! I've had my 15 turn for about 3 months now and that thing flies!! i swear I'm pulling wheelies when I come off the last turn with my evader ST.

Although the duratrax streak is rated down to 12T, you're probably putting a real strain on that esc with a hot 12T motor. The kr is a good motor but probably too much for that esc, IMO.

So wut would be a good
reasonable priced esc thats
really gonna control 12t motors
without strain?

anything by novak, or by lrp that has reverse disable. and yes the raven is a mod motor hence the 11t, stock motors are 27 turns

There was quote about the 12t
streak esc. My question how can
u tell if the 12t hot mod motors
is puttin a strain on the esc ?
It doesnt seem to be gettin hot

badmojo13

well if its causing a problem to the esc than you know its to much strain on it, I personally would go with a no motor limit esc, and that way you can run any motor you want and not have to worry about french frying the thing

Luvesia,

I'm assuming that your ESC only can handle 12 turns and below, otherwise I'd say go with a 10 or 11 turn...

I've used a Reedy Ti Worlds 12X2 that felt nearly as fast as a Cobalt 10x2! I can only use that motor when the conditions are just right.. It's fairly easy to work on, but you have to work on it often... I normally cut the comm on it after 3 runs :( It's still a good motor though, so if you don't mind maintaining it, that would be an option.

If low end is a concern, an Orion V2 would be a good choice... They seem to have less RPM than their counterparts though...an 11X2 would be equivalent to most other people's 12X2s as far as rpm goes.. But they have a lot more torque than the competition... I'd say try a 12X1...it would spool up fast and have very good torque.... you may need to gear it like a 13 turn though to get the most speed out of it... Also, the Orion endro brushes are much cheaper than either Reedy's or Trinity's long wear brushes, so you wouldn't have to spend as much maintaining it..

From what I've experienced so far, I would get an Orion or a Reedy for 4WD and Trucks, and a Trinity or a Checkpoint for 2wd Buggy... But that's just me.. :D

What are you planning to do with the truck...Race? Bash? What surface are you running on?? Let us know and we can narrow down the recommendations... Also Check your batteries if you are using nimhs... after 3 to 6 months of use a nimh pack can flatten out with bad cells even if you maintain them right.... that's why I'm using lipos now :D

I didnt' see anyone mention batteries as a possible cause of your truck slowing down, so I thought I'd bring it up....

Oh, I didn't read your first post completely... you are using nimhs... check to see if you 've got bad cells in the pack (one or more may be much hotter than the others after a charge...you can use a meter to check their voltages too..if those hot cells have noticably less voltage than the rest, then you know the cells are either bad or tired...)..

Im going to use my truck for
racing ive got a s**t load of
parts for it chassis wise now
i need the electronics to make
this thing cut like a hot knife
through butter . As for my batteries
the oldest one is about three
months old. Ive got two epic 3000s
and two gp 3300s that i learned
about readin these threads i dont
have anyway to check the bat.
THE gps will run laps around the
epics anyday but im sure you already
know that.
