hey all new here i just got a traxxas rustler eletric. how fast are these trucks? how long is the run time for the batteries? the truck is said to be stock. also i broke the gear that the motor turns.not the small one attatched to the motor but the big on it turns. what is a slipper clutch? and how do i adjust it? as you can see i jumped head first in to this.any links that will explane anything would be great thanks stan

the rustler will do about thirty with the inluded upgraded pinion gear (the one that is attatched to the motor shaft) the run time i get with a 3000 mah battery pack is usually about 10-15 min. the big gear you broke is called the spur gear. behind the spur gear is the slipper clutch, it protects your drivetrain from jolts and sudden changes in traction, it will slip when too much torque is put on it gradually accelerating the drivetrain. having the slipper to tight defeats its purpose though, and too lose wont let you get all your power to the ground. you can adjust it by tightening or loosening the nut that is on the same shaft right in front of the spur gear:

i think mine is the older model it came with the box and some paperwork. it says it has the slipper clutch how do i know its adjusted right?

Stan, general rule of thumb for your style slipper is..tighten down, then back off 1/4 turn. you will be right on then.
