View Full Version : Duratrax Intellipeak
These chargers are a menace to RC society...if you are using NiMh batteries that is. Is there anyway to shut off trickel charge?? Dont buy this charger if you are going to use it for Ni-Mh batteries. My batteries were so warm i couldnt hold them in my hand...ruined the $60 battery....runs for about 3 minutes...dang Duratrax...dang you!! I WILL AVENGE MY BATTERY!!! Trinity 3000 mah...

i have an apex too and it is an awsome charger. Don't tell other people not to buy something just because you had a problem with it.

I have the Mini-pulse, it works fine for my 3000's, all you have to do is charge when you can be close enough to it that you hear it's audible signal that it is switching modes to trickle charge and pull the pack off. I know it's not always possible to be near the charging area but this is a low cost solution for me. To each his own.

OK, I just got off the phone with a friend of mine who considers himself to be a "certified, card carrying member of the anti-intellipeak society" and is also a former intellipeak owner who has a method for disarming the trickle charge mode:
1. Connect charger to AC or DC power source
2. Attach your NiMH pack using the supplied connector
3. Select fast charge mode at 3 amps
4. When the charger senses the peak and switches modes, immediately remove the pack
5. Remove the charger from it's power source
6. Bring the charger out to the driveway
7. Bash it to pieces with a hammer
8. Go buy a Novak Millenium
No more trickle charge!
Keep in mind I disagree, but I had to pass this on. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/cool.gif
