I have been racing TC's and offroad 2wd for about 5 years, and I just started racing the Bolink Legends car in a Legends only class at my LHS. I gotta say that the low-tech aspect of this class is really a lot of fun. After the years of "high-tech" R/C this is a real change.

Anybody else race in the Legends class? Any thoughts?

Sweet . We race Legends and all other kinds of bolink cars . We run them cause they are cheaper and that helps to get people interestted in the sport .

We only stock motors and 1500 mAh stick pack batteries but they are faster than a lot of other cars .

The racing is close , a little too close . With all sorts of different Bolink cars , like Super T ' s , legends , Sports , going around the track there is bound to be colissions . We hold challenges to see who rolls on there roof first . And the track is bumpy so the cars get air at some spots but hey its all fun .

Are you alowed to use mods ? If so get some bearings and BRP Touring Car wheel adapters . The rubber tires get way better traction then the foam uhh things .

WEEEEEEEEEEEE! What do you mean your not supposed to jump an on road car?

No mods - we have to run completely stock cars , except our club allows a 6 cell 1500mah pack instead of the 4 cell , and we can run any pinion we want . Any Bolink Legends tires are legal . We have to use a ROAR approved stock motor . We run the Legends cars strictly in a class by themselves , and it does get pretty nasty out there ! The parking lot isn ' t exactly the best surface , with bumps and cracks , but that just makes the racing more interesting . Especially for the spectators !

I've been considering trying to get the local track to give Legends (or some other lower end spec class) a try. I think it would be a blast, with a little less focus on gear, and more on driving.

Justin - thats why it is so cool, everybody has more or less the same car, with very minor differences. You should really get your track to seriously consider it. I got my Legends car for $79, and had all the electronics I needed in a spare parts box. My club did put a price cap on electronics: neither the radio used or the ESC could cost over $150 each. But that isn't a Legends rule, just one for my local club, to help keep the cost down, and make it easier for new people to get into the hobby relatively inexpensively and still be competitive on their first race day.
