I recentley bought a Kyosho inferno st-s. It's my first 4x4 and my first Nitro. So far the thing is sick. It's tough, fast, and well built (other than all the phillips motor mount screws being stripped out). My question for the RC world is what's up with dif tuning? I keep hearing about guys "dialing in there diffs". What difference will thicker or thinner dif fluids make and what is best for speed and control at the track?

thinner diff fluid allows each wheel to move more freely, but this also gives more power to the wheel that has less resistance when you are acceleration, this is called unloading, thicker oil slows down unloading and lets the wheels move a little less freely bcause its thicker, it lets them moce slower, so...

thinner= more unloading, little sharper turning i beleive
thicker= less unloading, little wider turns under throttle

Thanks
So if I have this right heavier weight oil all around will give me better aceleration and lighter weight oil will help me turn tighter. If this is true where should I put my first, second and third weight oils and what weights would anybody suggest for a standard packed dirt track with tight turns (revelation raceway in so-cal)?

That track has some really tight turns.I see cars flying and going into the paking lot on that one turn that banks really high 10 to 15 times when I went there.
