Maybe you hook it up to a 9.6 volt battery? http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Like the ones that you get in toy stores.

If you are looking for high RPM's - go with something like a Reedy Rage, it should reach somewhere around there with the correct spring tension and brush choice. Another good bet would be the GM3 - but the highest RPM number I have seen off of a dyno is around 33,800.

The Green Machine 3 puts out 33,800 rpms right? How come in the Speed Gems ads, the 14 turn is 29,000 rpms and the 13 turn is 31,400 rpms? Even more confusing, in the Mod motor shootout of RCCA (August 2000), a motor that has the max rpm equal to 33,800 is a 13 triple peak perfomance stratos, a 14 triple peak performance thunderbolt, a 15 double monsters of touring, a 14 double orbital 2 mach, and a 14 double reedy pulse r? Also, in the ad, the jade speed gem is 27,000 rpm and in the shootout, it is 31,774 rpm. Someone please straighten me out, i'm confused...

The bottom line is that motors vary just as much as batteries in their specs. Any number given in an ad will be an average. You'll never know how fast your motor will be until you dyno test it. And yes, brushes can make a big difference.

One more thing, motor specs vary a lot, especially when they're all machine-wound. That means that each armature isn't optimized, so they will vary even more.

Quite true, I've seen stock motors produce as little as 26,000rpm & as much as 35,500 rpm(both based on the Reedy Rage). With mass produced, machine-wound motors of any wind, you'll see that kind of variance in quality, that's why haveing someone dyno-test batches of them before you buy is a good thing, it helps to weed out the dogs & find the real gems..... http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

It is not always RPM's that make the Difference also, Torque comes into play, i had a D4 14 Quad, the Dyno read out, 31,900 something RPM's, but this is the killer part, 257 Nmm of torque, i had a P2K pro, that read 28,000 something RPM's, but torque was in the 150's, so, RPM's do not matter if you cannot get up there with the gutless torque.
Rule of thumb, even "mild" mods will pretty much pull any stocker out there
IMHO
