I think you could grind the knuckles or get max turn knuckles because the dogbones will take a slight bit more. My stock one didn't hit the stops, so I had to redo the arm and radio settings to get it to swing to the stops both ways.

4 wheel steering would be real easy on it since it is the same axle/knuckles.

Do they have knuckles that turn more? I am not sure about the rear steering, I see that they have the provisions for it. But were would they put the servo or the linkage?

I would put the servos on the axles, but you could also make the linkage work with the stock servo location. It is a bad location in my opinion. I can't remember where I saw the knuckles, maybe the crawler site. I'll look around.

I just got my Wheely King, I couldn't wait for tower to ship my ESC,(I got assembled version) so I took the XL-5 esc out of my rustler.
WOW IS THIS THING COOL!!! IT IS SO MUCH FUN!!
I had a blast driving it around my house and crawling over things.
I'd have to say that this is one of my favorite R/C's.
Prob. tied for 2nd with my Stampede, just behind my E-maxx. IMO.

I'm glad to see all of the aftermaket goodies coming out for this awesome little beast!! I want to get some narrowed 2.2's, moabs & a Rockstar body for it, and a lathe motor. Time to go crawlin'!!:D:D:D

I saw that tower has listed a 96 tooth spur (LXN206). anybody know if there is enough room to use it? also how small of a pinion gear will work?
thanks

The 96 tooth gear will fit in no problem. Others were able to use a 12 tooth, but my trans would only allow an 18 tooth minimum. Grinding the trans may allow smaller pinion with the 96 tooth spur.

On 32 pitch I was able to use 68 tooth and a 9 tooth pinion.

Still too fast so I use a 104 tooth 48 pitch now with a 12 tooth pinion.

Pretty cool truck for the money, I gotta make it a crawler though or I gotta make it faster lol.

Also Found the stock servo saver ring is junk it snapped on a tiny bump of the front tire on my couch running slowly.
Easy enough fix but a little disapointing that it broke so easy was only on 3rd pack and broken :(.
All fixed now, fun little truck but slow. I guess if I want speed I'll just run my MM Pede lol

I had the same prob. I made a servo bracket and moved the servo to the axle, prob solved. WK's are alot of fun for the $$, mine has turned into a crawler too. Now I am wanting a stock one for wheelies again, lol.

Mines a crawler now with the Novak "goat" brushless set up. Works well, but is top heavy.

Well not gr8.
They make a decent entry level 2.2 crawler after MUCH modding

Well I've gone in a different direction with mine, crawling bores me.
I went in the speed direction and found with just a few mods it can be a fun fast 4x4 truck.

Added a Mamba Max, Castle Creations 7700Kv motor, T-Maxx integy shocks(to lower), Moabs on rockstar beadlocks, to lower a little more.

Hardened aluminum tranny gears to get rid of that failsafe slipper clicking.
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l38/zues_lil_buddy/Forum%20stuff/DSCN2421.jpg

Custom made T-Maxx shafts to stop throwing the shafts every time I punched it.

Short Vid of the truck now.

I was getting bored with the snail speed of the WK so I had to do something.
Its the only RC I have left so something had to be done or I was going to sell it.
Hated to sell it since it is the first NEW RC I've bought in like 15 years, so more POWER needed to be put in there.
Now pulling off 35mph+ and its fun, handles much better and stays on its wheels way better.

They dont have to be crawlers.:teacher:
It so much reminds me of a smaller T-Maxx the way it handles and the speeds its pulling off.

Looks better doing it too

Sorry for the poor driving, hard to drive and be cameraman at the same time :D

I've had my Wheely King for a year now and just started to mess with it. Mine will be a snow basher. The Wheely King has a nice scale looking chassis, so the first thing I did was painted a scale looking body for it, and some LED lights for night time snow bashing. All the Pro-Line Stampede bodies are spot on for the WK. Now I just need to install an old Supper Rooster I have and the new HPI 550 GT 14.4 volt motor, to handle the Lipo 3 cell's, seal up the chassis and go in the snow! I like the rear battery load, it should make sealing up in between batteries easer than my Stampede.

Here are some shots of the K-10 Chevy Pick-up for the Stampede.

life to an old thread...was going through my pics and this is one of the most versatile trucks i'ver owned. Some pics of the many incarnations....from the first stretch from stock to a brushless basher beast to a neo clod to a droop suspenson crawler.
