The XXX-s is absolutely, positively, the fastest, smokenest, prettiest touring car in the world. Now, would you like to hear my biased opinion?
Actually though, I think I can safely say at this point that the new Losi is going to be a real competitor. Let me be the first of many that will say "it depends on the driver". Man I'm glad I got that out of my system.
The most objective thing I can say at this point is that it's still too early to compare the cars in competition - as a whole.
I'm personally looking forward to some heavy battles between the two - just as their off road counterparts are. After all, the tight competition is where the fun is! And I got some good AE friends I'm lookin' to bust their bubble!! ;)

Well, you know where most of us are, Ron......bring it!...lol :D Seriously, he's right, it's way too early to tell much about the new Losi, it's be best to wait a bit & see how regular guys are doing with it & how they like living with it day to day(you know, maintaining it, replacing broken parts, seeing if it can be tweaked easily, how fast things wear out, etc.), but obviously in the right hands it can be just as fast as any of the other top echelon TC's.....

Is the TC3 still competitive now that the XXXs is out? I hear the XXXS took the ROAR Mod Sedan, is that just the Losi drivers are better, or is the XXXS truly a better car?

i raced my xxx-s this past weekend and it ACTUALLY was a very nice car. im not being biased towards any other cars. ive run a tc3 for quite some time now, and i found that there was really an easy transition to the xxx-s. it is smooth and remarkably quiet and performs flawlessly!
no arms have broken as of yet on some of worst wrecks in which i really thought they were gonners. the drivetrain is also very efficient as a single belt system.

but then again, RONB is right and it does matter about the driver too :)

all i can say is that if you have the chance to, get both, and figure for yourself which you like. or maybe ask to try someone's car if you know someone who has one. also, another thing to think about is the availability of parts. my lhs carries a lot of losi and associated stuff, so i really have no worries there, but i know other stores only carry one or the other.

I dont know wich is better but i do know what the main reason that that tc3 is not winning many races is their lack of good drivers. The top drives like that japaneese dood and bk and matt francis are in short supply and my guess is that AE doesnt want to shell out the cash for the realy good drivers. That is one reason why i dont go by which car wins the race.

i have both TC3 and XXXS, and i'm also pretty new in this serious RC hobby, i used to play with nikko and radio shack stuff.
as a musician and recording engineer, I can summarize both cars as:

TC3 : ROCK Music
XXXS : Smooth FUNKY/R'n'B/JAZZ

love 'em both
:D

Of course the TC3 is still competitive, what kind of question is that? Losi is not the be all and end all in the RC world.

I saw on Losi's website that they were going to include a body with the kit. What body comes with it?

There sure are a lot of Z's and X's in this thread :p

Well, I am finallu going to jump on the sedan bandwagon. I really really like the TC3 design. It is utterly simple and flawless. Plus, it is AE, and for some strange reason they are easy to like, as opposed to Losi, who I love to hate.
Why ? I have no clue. I guess I am always cheering for the little guy, or the underdog ...
But, I am pretty darn sure that I will be picking up a FT TC3 veeeeeeeeeerrrrrryyy soon :D

I don't know about anyone else but the touring car that I'm really excited about is the new Kyosho KX-ONE. It's driven by a single belt drive, like the XXXS, but unlike the TC3 or XXXS, the motor and battery are center lined for better balance. It's really exotic looking compared to the typical Losi, AE, and HPI TC cars you see everywhere.

Nope, THE exotic TC, would be the X-RAY, T-1, that car is TIGHT.

Though, the RCLAB car, does look extremely slick.

I will admit it now, I am a sucker for Carbon Fiber :)

Oh man, that kyosho is pretty sweet. Check out this site: http://www.rcracing.com/Page.cfm?InfoID=1468
Look at a picture of the front end. Thats crazy. And the belt can be seen from the bottom. I hope the production car has it covered.

I'm a sucker for carbon fiber too. Best looking chassis ever? A pimped out Pro 2. It makes an X-Ray T1 look like the plain girl next door.

I am not a Kyosho fan, but I have to admit that new KX-One is high on my list of possible next cars.

I had no idea the diffs and belt were exposed like that on the KX-One. Sure it lowers the center of gravity, but what about the exposure to dust, carpet fibers, and other foriegn objects? Looks cool though.

it does look cool. i have no idea if it will work or not but it's the most original design i've seen since the TC3

I assume a cover can be added to protect the belt. If not, it would be a good idea to make one out of lexan. Other than that the car looks HOT! I love the vertical chassis and centered tub for the electrics. Can't wait to see one in person.
