All right, I have a very long ( 30-40 foot) long area and its only about 10-15 feet wide. Give me some ideas fior an off raod track!

Well, that is pretty narrow !
I believe ROAR approved lanes are 8 feet, so you will not be able to even get two regulation lanes (ahh but who cares it is the backyard bashing track right ! :p ).
You are going to have to get creative ...
Maybe one long straight, and a zillion "S" turns ? :p

Great I'm not the only person who's making a track in their backyard. My track is 30 foot long oval. The front stretch is about 20 feet of flat dirt and the last 10 feet is washboard jumps. The back stretch has a 3 foot tall double and then a tabletop right before the turn. The turns aren't flat I'm going for "Bristol" like turns. Its a tight track so far. The main idea is put your mind to work designing the track, after all your going to be racing on it. ;)
see ya later

I had a VERY small track at first, maybe only 15 by 10 and my little bro asked my mom if we could make it bigger. One question, what are washboard junps???

Make it the way you want it. Be creative, do it your own way. You will be a lot more satisfied.

I have a track in my back yard, I made it 5 years ago. I really haven't taken care of it (or used it), but it used to look great. It was hard dirt with about 4 jumps, and sort of an oval with some little turns. I also had a wooden "fence" around it, so I could see where the track was. To make the track look good, go over with a rake and remove any little rocks and leaves, then take an old broom and sweep off the loose dirt (assuming that it's hard dirt underneath).

I am going to build a back yard track. It will be approximately 30ft by 100ft, not huge by any means but a decent track to mess around on, in between race weekends....My question is with 10 scale trucks how far apart should the doubles / triples be apart, so My truck doesn't always come up short or go to far and land on flats... any help would be appreciated.

i think a monkey could have mashed enough keys to give a better responce than THAT jeep... LOL....
now... about building a small track...
you can go a couple different ways...
i will work off the assumption that you have 35' by 12' to work with..
this leaves you with a oval track, with 2 lanes 6' wide... your working straight lengths will be around 25' each...
you will probably want to form your obsticles so that they can be jumped and landed from both directions on the track.... for example, don't make a double with a huge take off jump and a tiny landing jump... that would make the jump directional, so that jump could only be made while going one direction on your track.... you will get bored of driving your track much faster if you only drive it one direction...
you probably do not want to form a tabletop... even though they may not look like it, tabletops take tons of dirt to form... so unless you have plenty of extra dirt, you may not want to try and build one of these....
do not dig any holes in your track for jumps or to get dirt for your jumps... any hole on your track will hold water if it rains.... so it's usually best to build all obsticles above ground level....
i would build a whoop section with a single jump after it on one straightaway.... and i would probably build a double jump on the other.... this should be easy to build, and not use too much dirt...
you can always build plywood ramps covered with short carpet if you need the track for other uses, or don't have any extra dirt to build the jumps with...
you can also look at a playstation game called "Supercross Circuit" to get ideas for obsticles... it has a track builder on it... so you can build a track, then ride it to see how the obsticles "flow"...
best o' luck...
peace out.... :)
