Your 4 foot tall aircompressor is perfect for the job. Just make sure that the hose you have can hook up to the male end of your compressor line. Then turn the pressure down to 35-40 psi; get a water trap and put it between the tank and your airbrush and your set to go. Faskolor paints are great, but may require some thinning. I use faskolors and spaz stix. Faskolors are easier to clean up because they are water based.

well a work of art can be created with any airbrush including single action. A double action is easyer to use imo. Spaz sticks are a different brand of paint and i believe they are lacquer based. I belive faskolors are water-born acrylics. You would thin each one with their respective solvent. Lacquer thinner for spaz sticks and water for faskolors. You would thin the paint because it will flow better out of the airbrush and it will last you longer.

Use enough -distilled!- water to make Faskolor paint flow easily at a decent pressure -40 psi, or less-. I've also found that putting a glass marble -bought by the bag at Michael's craft store- in the bottle helps mix it a bit better when shaking. I put a couple marbles in the flips, as that stuff will give you tennis elbow before it's properly shaken at times :p . Hope that helps get you started :)

you can use a windex/water solution as a reducer vs. straight distilled water as well. The windex will help out with the issue of tip drying on the airbrush.

Heyyy!! I would like to know the -approximate- ratio of Windex to distilled water when mixing thinner please. I've been trying to work with my #1 tip (VL airbrush), and have been dealing with that VERY problem. I've even tried adding a touch of SLX Alcohol. Still no go :roll2: . I don't mind cleaning my airbrush at all! I put it away as it was when new, no matter how tired I am. I'd just like to at least finish a few lines before I have to fool with it! That #1 needle is quite sharp...not my fav toy to play with, especially when frustrated  .
Has anyone ever tried using a syringe -the kind for giving kids nasty tasting stuff by mouth with- to flush their airbrush out -using H2O- between colors? Works great for me! Although, I also use Q-Tips and M.E.K. (Methyl Ethyl Keytone) to get the last bits of fouling out. Being the 'hard to please individual' I can often be :p . Thanks a ton for the Windex tip! Is it true this will also help curtail the 'webbing' often caused by static in the body?!! Please tell me it's true :) Any particular flavor of Windex best?
Thanks again,

I use a 50/50 ratio on both windex/water and iso alcohol/water.

I use the windex/water for making the paint flow better overall. For my drop shadows I use the alcohol/water mixed 1:1 with the paint and go over the same spot about 6-8 times. The alcohol cuts down a bit on the tip dry, but makes the paint dry quicker on the lexan so you can go back over it quicker.

Bingo! Thanks for the details :) Heading out to the shop now to skin a few Coke bottles for testing :driving: I appreciate the tips very much ;)

no problem, good luck! Try to vary your air pressure to work the best with the reduced mix too.

anyone using an iwata hp-cs with faskolor paints??? just wanted to know if bumping up to a .5mm instead of the stock .35mm would be better for painting pearls and metallics??

Wow! Did that ever solve my problem! Thank you very much! Merci beaucoup! Vielen Dank! even :) . Lower pressure, and a smoother flow, was exactly what I was searching for! I almost have control of my airbrush now :roll2:...maybe? We'll see! At least I have a place to start, without so many aircap worries and such with my #1 tip/needle ;) .
Thanks again!

Thanks!! When painting with faskolor paints, is it ok to paint indoors?? I know they are waterbased paints but will there be a lot of fumes and dust from the spray to make a mess and will it smell at all??

they do have a particular smell to them. They will cause some overspray and all paint makes a mess. Just be sure to wear a respirator just like you would spraying toxic paints.

I paint indoors with the fascolor, in my basement. My wife tells me she can smell the lacquer paints but not the water based. ALWAYS wear a respirator when you paint. That stuff gets in your lungs and airways and will do some long term damage.
