Hi all, I just bought a new Fantom 2400 Killer Voltv pack. So far I've used it about 10 times and it is performing really bad. When charged it normally takes about 2800mah into it and peaks at 10.20v on my Millenium. When I use it it runs ok for about 2 1/2mins then goes really soft with no punch out of the corners. I've tried changing the ratio a few times but havent done anything. I run in a stock class too. This pack against my Fantom 1700's really ***** ! I have tried a number of motors with it (mainly Tamiya/Johnson 540's and stock motors) Does anyone have any suggestions as to why it is performing really bad and is there anything I can do to make it run better? Cya's

PS, I am running a XXX with 26-27/76 spur too. Equals out to 6.83 which is what I normally run.

The pack specs are 1.15v, 420sec @20amps, 2082mah. I havent actually run my rebuiladle stock motor in my buggy yet, only in my onroad TC3. I motors I usually run are Johnson 540's and mod-540's (these are Johnson 540 armatures in a modified motor can, very much like your stock motors). I have recorded all the mah's and peak volts every charge and written them down. someties it gets to as high as 2994mah into it, but is now settling at around 2800mah.

Next to your 1700 packs, anything will look bad, with lower mah, the higher the volts will be. What amp rate do you charge @? My guess is with a 1.15 sticker, they charged at 4.5-5A, i use 4A with mine, and they do great.

Aussie Man, Your killing your motors! You are about 3 teeth over on gearing for the 24' stock motors. A P2k should be around 8.80, MVP 9.00 or lower, a Paradox 9.20, GM3 10.00, Rage 10.00. These will all be fairly close, and will work as long as the motors are in good shape. We have run most of these motors with very good performance at these ratios. We use the E brush with a slot cut on buggies most of the time.
The battery may be from the older batch of
2400's(not that great), or they may just need to be cycled hard a few more times. Our packs don't peak at that high of a voltage. Usually a high peak voltage means a high resistance number. What does the voltage settle out at once it sets for 5 minutes or so? Let us know. Later.

5amps is what I charge at.
