Battery Cells

I just bought a new 1800 7 cell battery.
And was just wondering what the 7th cell actually does? more run time? more power?what?

The 7th cell increases the voltage in the cell which translates to more power (Acceleration, speed, & torque) it will actually give you less runtime because of this increase current. I'm sure somebody can offer the physics behind it. I would but that would mean breaking out my physics book....nope.
