Well, i just bought a P2k pro model, and it makes a high pitched noise when i run it. Is this normal? I've never run a P2k before, and im worried i may smoke my new motor!!! What should i do? Is this noise normal, or should i oil something in the motor? Oh, by the way, I'm using the motor in my T3FT. Could the problem be the differential? Too tight, too loose?

Isky thats a very forgiving durable motor. I don't think it's as loud as some of the other motors out there. Maybe the gear mesh is tight, or the spur got reversed from the way it's used to running. Could be the motor bushing isn't quite set in all the way & is squealing. Try the gear mesh 1st & then I'd try pulling the brushes to see if it turns free. If not, reseat the bushing in all the way & loosen them up a little. It's tough to say from here. Good luck.

does it do it if u take the moter outa the truck? if not u know its ur gear mesh or sumpin else but if it does oil and clean ur moter good maybe its just braking in also check and look at ur comm my gm3 did that and my comm had a big gap so i had it trued and new brushes and it went away :) cya good luck

Make sure you didn't strip the motor screw holes! My XXXT was making this awful noise and I couldn't figure out why. Tried to remesh and that's why I found out one of the motor screw holes was stripped. All quiet now :)

Mine did the exact same thing. A drop or two of oil on the bushings will solve the problem. I oil mine every 3 or 4 runs.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm going to try to buy some bushing lube. Maybe even have my comm trued. Thanks for the help, and hopefully my motor will run without squeeking!

Try Tinity's Royal Oil, that is good stuff, but esentially, anything with 'Stock Bushing Lube' will work great

Tight gear mesh is most likely the culprit. Also, using different brands of pinion & spur can cause extra noise, because their profiles aren't exactly the same. My Losi pinions & spurs are the best I've ever used (I used to use RRP), they're super quiet, mesh quite easily, and the teeth are plenty wide enough to distribute the force on a large contact patch.
