Well i only have experience with the element. Works nice in my T4 on my local club dirt track. 19 turn and approved for stock.. good in my book,

The element and sv2 pro bb 17x2 would be my suggestions. I have never personally used these motors, but have heard many people say the are great. The formula has v2 style brushes, which extend comm life. The element would be good for racing, and has lots of torque.

I'd choose number 6 having had a lot of experience with it. I run two in two different Stampedes. Great motor! The Formula Sv2's are really nice and I highly recommend them. Only the ball bearing version though. The bushed has locked timing, is not rebuildable (other than brushes and springs), and is over all, not as good of a motor. I've bought two 19-turn Sv2 Pro BB's and two 17-turn SV2 Pro BB's since December. I like all of them and will be buying another as soon as the budget allows (for my Sledge Hammer).

The brush set-up is tricky at first, but you'll get used to it soon enough. I have a how to on my website on how to rebuild one as well if you need further instruction!

I just got a hand wound Banzai mod $37.99. It even comes with an extra set of XXX brushes. Check it out. www.banzaimotors.com

The SV2 motor. It's a little tricky to work on, but the trade-off is amazing speed for a relatively small dent in your wallet. I got the 15 turn in my evader, and it's the best motor I've had yet! :D

Once you get used to the angled brushes it's quite easy.

Depends on your experience and class of racing you'll be doing plus and how tight club rules are.
The Reedy Flash would be your best bet for modified racing on a budget but you may need something in a 10-14 turn double depending on track and other racers ability. The second and third are based on European motors and power is a little off, but decent for bashing or recreational club racing where no rules are followed.
The 19turn Spec are just that, they conform to the Spec 19turn class rules being made with a fixed timing of 24 degrees, 19turn single armature and ball bearings. Best motor for this class is the Trinity Komodo Dragon, but the Orion/Peak or Reedy 19T Quad are ideal with surface is very dusty and there is a lack of ideal traction.
The others fall into a catagory of being mod motors or bashing for recreational use. Plus if you are fairly new to rc, stick with a decent stock motor until you can horn your driving and tuning skills, then move up in class to 19turn or modified.

I agree with Highroller in most points except 19 turn spec, there you can use either the Kamodo Dragon or Team Checkpoint but your gearing will be different. Team Checkpoint is a lot higher torque with lower max rpm. I tend to like it better.

The reason I didn't mention the Checkpoint Money, most clubs tend to rely on Trinity or Reedy for Spec Class rules. The stock setup does produce better toruque, but will brush and spring changes, the ideal gearing it makes good rpms. Fast and consistantly better than the local track is running them in an 4cell oval class. Laps have been between 19t Mod and the old 19turn spec class.
