what kind of plugs are you talking about? my guess is that Low and Medium are refurring to the plug temp. low being cold.

Those are the plugs I use, and I use 20% byrons race blend with them. Seems to work just fine.

oh ok, yea thats low to medium nitro content. 20% is considered medium, 30%or higher is high

MC59 is a hot plug. You should have no problem. Normally I would use the MC8. The MC59 I use when it is cooler out or humid, warms up faster and keeps the motor hot by burning hotter and burning thru the heavier humid air better. The MC59 is a great plug, just avoid using it when it is very hot out, then use an MC8 which is a medium plug. The MC8 helps keep the engine temp slightly lower by burning cooler.

Right. I use them in almost all my surface vehicle nitro's.

do they wear out fast?

Good lasting plug, no problem with either 20% or 30% nitro, surface vehicles only. I use them in my buggys and my monster trucks.

You change your plugs depending on weather...wow. I just put in a plug and go, they last me over a gallon+ without preformance loss.

Winter I run the MC59, Summer I run the MC8, inbetween whatever is in there. A couple of times I had a problem in very humid conditions, my truck kept stalling. I put in the MC59 which is hotter and no problem.

Hmm, weather changing??

Idk, but i think a cold plug would be find in the winter or 45degF tempuratures.
Running the engine increases its temp, so run it and have fun zoomin around.

Cold Plug in winter= u need to run to keep hot= more fuel consumption.
Hot Plug in winter= engine will stay up to temps better, without the need of running it so hard= less fuel consumption.

It depends on what your like. I personally dont care. I found a cheap set of 12 OSA3 plugs, lmao, and am going to use those whereever.

Just so we're on the same page - an MC59 is technically a hot plug but formulated to work with wider ranges. This is why it works well with 20%, which normally calls for a mid-range temp plug like an OS 8.

General rule of thumb is that a hotter plug advances the ignition point, a cooler one retards it.

Ireland here's a good short page (http://www.maxxtraxxusa.com/Page.cfm?InfoID=3607) that sums it up well.

yeah when I run my 50% before I would have to run a cold plug for the best performance and no flame outs...20% ur good with a mc59...in my nitro vee I run a airplane plug (with the idle bar) and have yet to burn up a plug in it! :)
