How fast are your P2k's I have one that does 28,900 rpm but probably does 30,000 because Trinity dynos them with clamp on wires and mine are soldered on ,plus I added bearings for extra smoothness only when Im messin around off road though.

The rs'don't mean squat, it's the max. torque how long it takes to get there and how long it stays high afterwards....on a personal note you may wanna change your name, cause it will offend people and that's not cool....JMO

RPM will determine absolute top speed... but it is not a measure of acceleration, that would be the torque rating... can't remember all the ratings on mine but the rpm on mine is 29,600 (with a 6 cell pack), i believe a 7 cell, because of the increased voltage, would net you more rpm, though I've not tested to see if this is true...

Yeah Rpm does determine ultimate top speed, but must cars are too heavy and if the torque isn't there and the length of straightaway and highspeed sweepers aren't there the motor will be a dog. I mean what good is a motor that will run at 100 million rpm when you only ever get 3,000 to use?

I agree, generally speaking, torque gets you to speed and HP keeps you there... what you have to determine is what application (track layout) lends itself better to higher rpm operation or higher torque operation... of course with proper gearing you can make most ANY motor run all the way to redline, it just may not be an optimum setup for the given track or condition... on a slippery track I'll take the slightly lower torque vehicle every time and work on optimizing corner speed instead of acceleration and braking... on a slippery track smooth pays BIG dividends vs. outright acceleration... IMHO
