Answer to question number 2: I know there is a main chassis made of carbon fiber for the TC3 but I'd hate to see the price tag for a new on because it sold used on ebay for like $80. And correct me if I'm wrong guys but you don't save much weight between the carbon fiber chassis and the graphite one. But I know it disapates heat a little better. Hope this helps.

Yes, AE makes a graphite version of all molded components on the TC3(in fact, the factory team car has them all), & i'm told that when all of them are installed, it can shave about 2 oz. off the weight of the car. As for wheels, pretty much any standard touring car wheels will fit, as long as they're 0 offset(I believe that most manufacturers set their cars up for 0 offset wheels nowadays, including HPI, AE, Yokomo, Schumacher, etc, & ProLine's wheels are 0 offset)Granted, the hole in the middle of the wheel can be different (the TC3's axles are a bt thicker than most), but its an easy matter to open up the hole some to make the wheel fit...... :)

There are two manufacturers of Carbon fiber chassis for the TC3. Both run about 130 dollars and have their faults. If you are new, the batteries tend to fall out easier, You have to run good cells, ie. race packs in the chassis. The Stick packs will not fit. Also, it depends on what type of feel you want for your car. The carbon-fiber flexes more and will change the set-up for the car entirely. They work great on asphault but have their quirks on carpet.

Remember, SPRUNG weight is not as crucial to reduce as is the ROTATING MASS of the car. Rotating mass will improve lap times, and Sprung weight will make the car consistant, as long as the car is balanced. ;) Rotating mass is anything that turns, wheels, tires, GEARS, DIFFERENTIALS, INPUT SHAFTS, drive line, and CVD's. This weight will improve your cars speed, not the Chassis.

Good luck, hope I helped.

thanks guys... you have helped. i was just asking aobut carbon fiber because i know that carbon fiber hoods shave a lot of weight off of a full size car.

if it only takes off 2 oz. then forget that. i'm not buying the full graphite component set. (even though i have the factory team t3) graphite seems pretty cool though.

what about some kind of special driveshaft for the TC3... is there any real good ones or not??? i hear that the composite one breaks for some people. i saw a blue aluminum one for like $20 in RC Car Action in the one ad. i don't think it'll do much though.

ok... i just received the new rc car action and the TC3 in that is awesome. I don't like the chassis though... but anyway... does anyone know if you can buy a blue megatech main shaft??? i'm gonna check out the website right now.

Dude... if you want to see aluminum... check out my car in the "got a TC3... now what" thread. But Like volvo98 said you have to remember about the rotating mass of the car. A heavy drive shaft is definetly not going to help this. Unless you personally break alot of them, I wouldn't worry about it, I don't.

I have had a problem with my drive shaft. Whenever I run it on a dusty street with an occasional big rock the big rocks seem to get stuck in the X spaces in the middle part of the chassis. Then the rocks where away some of the driveshaft like a lathe. I would buy an aluminum one (for looks) but if it gets scratched up like the one I have now it would look pretty ugly. :o

If you want aluminum chassis braces goto www.gpmracing.com. (http://www.gpmracing.com.) They will have them. But be warned...these will do strange things to your set-up as well.

XtremeLosi, have you made any progress?

Oh, yeah. One final thought on Aluminum parts. Remember, some Aluminum is designed to catch faster laps, and some Aluminum is designed to catch drivers.

I'm just gonna try to trick the TC3 out... i might get the RC1 rims to go with the civic body. i don't care what their made of but i like what they look like. right now i have a fetish with black rims.

if i get a skyline body i'm gonna get hpi white super stars.

but anyway, i only plan to race my friend so its not that big of a deal.

Man, I almost sold my TC-3 then I realized "hey, I need a rally car". I'm not going to race mine either, except with some guys I know from the lhs, but I thought it would be a fun rally conversion project. I think I'll put some hop-ups on it that aren't going to do anything except make it look cool and go for the "super **** " rally car :D

I had my second race today with my two friends but my brother couldn't make it... my bullet connectors are messed up and i just went into last place because of it. oh well... ;)

i beat my best time on my track. i had the record of 10.44 seconds but i just made a 10.22 run!!! :D I'm hoping to hit a 9 soon!!!

XtremeLosi $80 for the graphite chasis? was this like the megatech or irs one? Because the Team Associated one is only like $50. Yes its the same semi-tub as the other but a flat plate doesnt really give any advantages...

he's talking about carbon fiber but i think the associated factory team chassis is only $40.
