Buy what you like and what your local hobby shop has lots of parts for. Pretty much anything you buy from a hobby shop or a hobby class kit (not from K-Mart etc.) is going to be good. Nobody here can tell you what is going to be the best car for you, only you can do that.

I've heard that HPI makes a decent entry level touring car. You might also want to check out the new brushless RTR 1:10 touring car from TeamLosi. Don't pay attention to the price on their homepage, the actual price is a couple hundred cheaper than that. Still pricey but brushless seems to be all the rage these days.

Hi,
I bought the HPI Sprint 2 about a few weeks ago and I really like it. I'm not into racing and this is my first try at RC Cars...I've been flying RC Heli's for sometime now and wanted to get into cars for the fun.
I like it...decent car for the price and it runs pretty well being a belt system. I'm planning to get some drift tires and enjoy that...
I don't know if people have raced with the HPI Sprint 2....is this car race worthy? HPI does offer carbon hop-ups...will that make a difference?
Cheers.
