A team of NASA trained engineers has been working on that very problem since 1988. No luck yet.

ummm, no seriously. how do u open those old style ones with the white tabs. i thought they made them so u couldnt modify.

It's easy! Just hit it with a heavy hammer! Thats what I did! Don't blame me if you wreck your motor!

If i remember correctly..you mean the stock Tamiya motors? If so..i think there are pieces of the can that are bent over to hold the endbell on. What i do is i use a screwdriver or a knife to bend them out and pull the endbell off. Then you can turn them either way...advance or retard...your choice...i like to play with them and retard them then while running, advance it so it accelerates and sounds like a car...
