Im looking for a mod motor to race my XXXT, they race mod only at my track and last year I used a 13t motor and could keep up with the other guys but didnt get enough battery life so I will get a 2400 pack and a 12-14t motor, I was looking at the Reedy Ti Mod 12x3 for 49.99 and a D4 12x3 for 54.99 or just a speed gems 12t for 27.99, will I notice a difference between these motors since they are the same winds? I was leaning more towards the Ti mod since its not too pricey and it just came out. Which should i get?

As I know the Reedy's TI motors are specifically designed for modified touring car racing. I only have 12T Speed Gem and do not have D4, so I really can't tell the differences, sorry.

If you want a very low budget quick motor check out the kyosho xspeed 12t double for about 25.00 or the monsters of touring

VLBR, if you're serious about racing go for the hadnwound motor, although you'll save $20 bucks on the machine wound the difference is very noticable. Either the Reedy or trinity motors will be awesome!

Bry, I know TI motors can drive any car but it is especially good for touring car. It may not perform very well for truck or buggy. Check this page and read the last sentence. http://www.teamassociated.com/shusting/CatalogHub/reedy/rdy_ti.htm

I would get a 10 turn speed gems. It would be as fast as the D4 12x3 and last longer! I have had ALOT of problems with D4's (same with everyone at my local track) but I have had the best luck with the speed gems. If you get a speed gems always get 2 turns lower than the D4, Ti or any other hi-proformance, hand wound motor. The Speed Gems 9 turns lasted about 7 sets of brushes while my D4 11 lasted about 3 and the D4's magnets dont last as long (I know, I know, you can replace them). And I notice they were just as fast. ;) :D :) :p

That's a good strategy, Neight.

I'll still go for hand wound mods, though. :)

So you guys are saying go for the D4 or the Speed Gems right? My LHS carries Speed Gems and I have had good luck with them before, but I tried out a D2 a while back and it was the most powerful motor I have tried, so i'll try out a d4, thanks guys. BTW: my XXXT seems like it is going slower than my XXT used to go with the same motor, could it just be that the new tranny is soo quiet that I cant hear it comming?
