I am looking to buy a duratrax blast esc, and P2K motor for my superhornet. I just wanted to know what else I need to buy to install it. The blast has preinstalled bullet type connectors, so should I buy no solder leads. Which is the best way to connect the motor?

If you are lazy and do not want to solder, sure, those would work fine, but you could just take the bullet connectors off of your existing motor and solder them up to your new one.

BTW:It is great that you are buying an ESC, you will never know why you used the MSC

You don't have to buy the no solder leads, just simply cut the old solder leads from your original Hornet's motor and solder it to P2K. This way you can save about 5 bucks. But If I were you I would buy the F1 ESC. The Duratrax Blast is the Low Frequency ESC, which is less efficient. Also It can only handle 27 Turn motor ONLY.

I used to have the Blast. You will notice an improvement over the MSC so don't listen to them, for the price you really can't beat it. If i remember correctly i picked my up for less than $50.

I believe any brand or type of ESC will perform much better than MSC. But my point was if you can afford another $15, why don,t you just get a better one. Because Duratrax is only for stock 27T motor. If someday you decide to have a modified motor, then you have to buy a new ESC. This is only my opinion.

...and it's a good opinion. I totally agree.

I just replaced my Blast with the F1 pro. I bought the Blast not knowing that it was only for stock moters! (I used a 17 turn speed gem oops). Lucky for me it did not kill the ESC! If you only plan on running stock motors it will be fine. But for a little extra cash you can buy a much better ESC and run a hotter moter later on down the road. It will save you money in the long run!

I think the blast will be fine for now. I don't plan on putting too much money into the hornet, if I buy a nicer car down the road I will probably invest in a better esc. Thanks for all the responses!
