I can get the matched 2400s with longer runtime compared to the 2000's so... do the 2400's really have less power/punch compared to the 2000s? Thanks, later

Everything I've heard suggests the 2400 cells have less punch than the 2000s. I haven't tested them personally, so I can't say for sure, but that's the word. The newer cells have supposedly been improved since the first batch, so maybe they're getting better, but I haven't seen any solid evidence one way or the other. I know from past experience that the 2000 cells would clock in at about 2400 mAh anyway, so there isn't much of an increase in run time at all with the new cells. If you want longer run time, get the 3000 cells.

ya im at the same delima (typo) im getting ready to place a tower hobbies order with a bunch of junk and a duratrax 6 cell stick 2400 sanyo high capacitiy batterys. the way you sound steve the 2000s are about the same accept they have more punch. iknow you said you hevent tested them but i think you can answer this 2000 pack question. can they last 5 minutes on a on-road and off track?

i have one other ? this has to do with team losi xx 'cr' spur gears. while im placing this tower hobbies order i want to get a couple of spurs for my cr buggy. but i dont know what spurs will fit it and my lhs doesnt have any for losi. i think i saw a while back in a rcca issue that BK gears will fit it. will they and i want a lower tooth count on the spur than the stock one (i have no ide what the tooth count is on the stock one) but can you reccomend me one with a low tooth count and will fir a cr buggy? your help is appreciated steve!! tanks lots!

Mavrick, the 2000's will make your 5 minute requirement with the proper gearing. You might have to go down a few teeth on your pinion, but it'll make the time.

and one know about spurs thatll fit the cr buggy?

any ways i finally got my buggy geared to were its competitve. i dont want to change the teeth i want to lower my spur teeth. i already raised me pinion teeth to 25 teeth instead of the 20 i had. i want to run my buggy on-road with sadens. if i have to mess with my gearing to make it slower but last the 5 minutes ill just go with the 2400 i might as well go ahead and pay about $8 more and have the right gearign and run time.

R_C_MAN- i was talking to jimmy at hobby town one day about a new pack i said i would need to buy a 3000 pack to have enough run time. he said no and to go with a 2000 or 2400 can't remember which one. because he said the 2000's had the punch. and the 3000s dont. he has ran nothing but electric cars for over 14 years. he has never said any thing wrong about r/c that i can prove him wrong. but i would still ask around.

Mavrick, sounds like you either need the 3000's or a touring car http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/wink.gif It's difficult to have your cake and eat it too sometimes! But if your local guy knows, go with it---he's probably right.

ya i was going to ask him 2000 or 2400 but he only works i think 2 or 3 days a week then holds the races on sunday. he says they dont have punch. but what i wanted to know which battery would last. then i found out that the 2000 woiuld work but i would have to make my cars gear slower. i dont know... i think jimmy is working today ill call and see if hes out there.

again does any one know what spurs will fit the team losi xx 'cr' buggy????

have you tried robinson racing? they used to make all kinds of gears for the losi cars and trucks in the x line. Later

BK gears are the new gear pitch. I think they are 54 pitch.

BK=Brian Kinwald. thanks for your help. i started to do a search on losi and found out the "to the dot" name for it. the searchable name on tower hobbies and losi is "84T Hydra-Drive/Slipper Gear" doesnt even say spur thats why i couldnt find it. thanks for your help!
