Preferably a 12volt DV power source, like motorcycle batteries or your car. Plugging it into the house directly may make it and the house have a problem. Novak and some other companies make AC to DC converters. They plug into the wall, and then your charger plugs into it.

The converter he's talking about are the DC power supplies that Novak, Rivergate, & others sell. Novak's is called the N-Power, & Rivergate has a variety of power supplies at different capacities(anywhere from 10-45 amps). Also, Duratrax has a small one that puts out 7 amps(Integy used to sell it themselves) called the Reactor, I think..... :)
Mavrick, click to Tower, type Power Supplies as the keyword.

Most RV supply places would have the convertor as well. Try Walmart, I think I've seen them in the automotive section or the Battery section. K-Mart, Lowes, Autozone, Pep Boys, and so on should have them also. Just need to make sure the convertor can handle the amps and volts required for the charger. People have been using convertors for years to run VCRs and stuff in RVs, trucks and Vans. I have never priced them but they might be cheaper.
Hope this helps,

If you want to buy a cheaper one try this one. http://www.mpja.com/product.asp?product=12422+PS I just ordered one, and if you want to know how does it work, ask me two weeks later.

Provided that the power supply specs at AT LEAST 12 volts DC and 5 amps, you can buy anything. Computer power supplies are relatively cheap and work just fine. The problem with them is figuring out which wires to use for +12VDC. You have to remember that computer supplies have 3 voltages, +12VDC, -12VDC and 5VDC. I can't remember off the top of my head which wire colors to use for +12VDC, but the colors are standard so I am sure someone can help you there.

Nairb , where are you? Nairb had posted a site that had a realy nice looking power supply for somethinf like $27 or so. I can't remember where he posted it though........ Nairb?
You can also use a lawn tractor battery. This is a common site at the track that I race at. They are small, have plenty of capacity, & only cost $15 to $20. The trick is having an automotive 12 volt charger though. There are power supplies on the "For Sale" section of this site all the time. Might be wort a look, unless Nairb checks in.

Yeah, yeah...I'm comin' :)
This is the best-priced, highly-capable (I use it with 2 chargers) power supply I've seen. It's quite small and very light. It has two outputs. Its specs are very similar to a Novak N-Power's, but it delivers more amps (which is great). I recommend you buy a power cord and some rubber feet at Radio Shack to use with it. No, THAT'S a link. hehe. :)
