Try cutting your comm and getting new brushes.

i dont know what the spur gear (how many teeth) te xx4 has, but a b3 has one of 81. (im perdy sure thats what comes stock..) If you have a small pinion (a pinion less then 20 teeth) then your b3 will accelerate real fast, but then the motor wont be able to make it go any faster. I put a 10 turn on my b3 with the 81 tooth spur and a 19 tooth pinion and i get about 6 to 8 minutes of runtime. (which I think is a pretty good amount for a 10 turn.......) Now of course the car wont do 50, but all I would have to do to make it faster is put a bigger pinion or a smaller spur on.

Hope this makes sense. Ive been werkin on a farm in the sun all day, and i ran outta water at about 3:00. :(

What pinion and spur are you running? With a 11x2 D4 I run 18 or 19 pinion(depends on what track I'm running on), and 81 spur.

you should be running around a 21-22 tooth pinion on your b-3 with a 14 turn and a 81 spur...

if you are running that gearing, then it sounds like you are due for a turn and some brushes....

peace out.. :)

i run a 18 with a 81, i bought a 75 tooth spur gear, and the 18 was too short, so i got assed out on that....oh well, i need like a 22 pinion, and a 81 spur, but are you guys sure that that is the problem with it??

When was your last comm cut and new brushes ? Like the guys above said, that could be it. Last weekend I put my D4 in my new XXXT - it had been running sweet in my XXX buggy, I gave it a clean, and threw it in the T. But it seemed to be lacking something all day. I frigged around with the gearing, and after 4 heats (just before the final), pulled it apart to find the comm turning blue ! Not having time to put it on the lathe and solder new brushes, I hastily gave it a clean and a buff with a Trinity comm pen, and cleaned the brushes with a comm stick. It got me through the final (even made it slightly better) but it's going to get a comm cut and new brushes sometime this week (when I get around to it, as they say in the classics).
