I met a guy at our local track, a good racer, who told me he breaks down his TC3 every week, pops out the ball bearings and soaks them in oil.

As virtually all the bearings in a FT TC3 are sealed, this struck me as a tad bit excessive.

What do you guys do? Are you as fanatical about your bearings? :D

I took the gear box bearing out of my TC3 and replaced the grease in them with Trinity Royal oil. Other than that, I just inspect them to see if there is any damage. I eventually want to replace all of them with metal shield bearings.

What do you recommend for replacement lubricant once the bearings are cleaned? I assume that black grease is not the best.

I have that light-colored bearing oil from Trinity. Is the "Royal Oil" (the pink stuff) any better than this? Or something else maybe?

Honestly I picked the trick up from this board somewhere, figured I would try it out. I haven't really noticed any performance increase, but I think that it is supposed to reduce the drag in the transmission alittle. The royal oil is pretty good stuff.

Leet, don't use black grease, its more prone to "gum" up that do anything else for you. Interceptor is right, the royal oil will work well for you. Thats basically what I use in my B3 and my transmission crazy smooth :)
