View Full Version : A cross in the wires...?

I just purchased a used Airtronics Caliber radio (among other things) and it has the older style plugs on the reciever... I've never owned Airtronics anything, so I'm not 100% positive on how to wire my esc/servo (both which have Futaba plugs) to it.. Is this as simple as reversing the red and black leads in the plug and shaving off the little Futaba lip to get them to plug into the reciever...? A simple question, but it's better (and potentially MUCH cheaper) to ask..
Also, if anyone has a copy of the manual that they'd part with it'd be a lifesaver...
Thanks,
LC

Yep, what you described is exactly what you have to do. I use both a Futaba and a JR transmitter. The plugs are different, so I just shaved off the lip and move the wires around as needed. To get the wires out, take a very small screwdriver and press the locking lip down on the metal lead for that wire in the opening in the connector, then just pull it out.

Thanks guys! Joe Yahoo at the local hobby shop kept telling me that I *had* to use an adapter... I asked him the same thing that was in the original post and he swore to me that that wouldn't work.. anything for a sale I guess..
