Ok..I've been out for about 7 years and I'm going to get back into racing again.. Back in the day ( :) ) I used to use Airtonics gear (the predecessor to todays CX series) and I'm looking at new radios and I'm considering getting the Airtronics again. Any opinions? I'm not looking to break the bank, so I'd prefer to stay under 250 :) This B3 Team Factory car, etc is eating away at my "toy money" in a hurry..

Thanks all!

One thing to keep in mind about radios; cars come & go but you keep a radio for a long time. They do more for your driving than any hop up.
If you can find an M8 without the servos you should be able to come close to that price. The new Airtronics use the Z connectors so that they are compatable with other radio gear, without having to swap connector wires.

I like the KO Mars, have 3 of them (me & boys), with no failures in over 4 years use. Has every option imaginable, works for Massami, & the crystalls are quit a bit cheaper than others. Bruckners $229 Just my $.02. Good luck.

The best you could go with is a JR radio or a KO. Easy to program, and a good quality radios. I'm the asst. manager of our hobby shop, I own JR, Hitec, Futaba, & Airtronics personally. and the JR is the best I have, and I have used KO before that other customers have had. Airtronics & Futaba are both nice looking, but they no where compare in funtioning and quality to a JR. We had a freq. scanner from AMA for a while and tested all the radios, and the Airtronics, and Futaba had the dirtiest frequinces out of all of them, so that's just something to think about. But also a lot depends on what guys around you race, if it's hard to get anything for a certain type of radio and there is nobody there to help you, you might want to look into a type more commonly used around you.

Well, that's my opinion anyways, assembled from everything I've seen over the years in the hobby and most recently. So I hope this helps you out :) and if you have anymore questions I would be happy to help to the best of my ability.

Have fun!

I recently bought a Multiplex Profi Car 403 and I love it. It is so choice. Check out its features here. It is unique, easy to use, very comfortable, and it works very well. I've had zero glitchng problems so far. It will work with anything you have, AM or FM. Best of all, I got a brand new one for $160 (without receiver or servos). Check it out, I think you'll be impressed.
