Boulder City Raceway
RCCA West Coast Editor Jason Sams is at the race and emailed a few notes, look for more soon. Plus pics, if they're not already up as you read this. Here's Jason...
-Scott Hughes sits atop the largest class of racers in 1/8-scale Truck despite having no practice on Thursday. Hughes was busy graduating from college. Congratulations Scott.
- The notorious "Silver State" conditions (pot holes, large ruts, bumps) prevailed despite using 3,500 gallons of calcium chloride to give the track a hard surface.
- The largest class is 1/8-scale truck, but 1/10-scale truck has a strong showing with 61 entries.
- Lap times for the fast guys are 29-31.5 seconds (1/8-scale truck), 30-34 seconds (standard monster truck), and 33-36 seconds.

I have to disagree with this statement after watching today's mains. It looked like very nice track conditions to me. Congrats to all the winners!
Jared Tebo - 10th Nitro Truck
Bobby Tillman - Monster Truck
Scott Hughes - 8th Nitro Truck
what MT did Tillman wheel?

Bobby ran a Traxxas Revo (since his sponsor, Mugen, doesn't make a "Production Monster Truck")

Here's a video of the exciting 2006 Truck Nats D-main. I made this
video for Eddy "Mudduck" Fikes. Scuba, thanks for the steady hand on
the camcorder. Good work.
http://rcarchive.com/rca/raceresults/09-24-06-2006trucknats/videos/
Its the one called d-main.wmv. As a preview to the video, I know most
are familiar with the "bump up" in the mains, but if not, the primay
goal in the lower mains were to just to be in the top 3 so that you can
bump up and race again in the upper mains.
This video is 80 megs. Please be kind and right click on the video and
go to "Save Target As" to save it onto your local hard drive, and then
view it from you local hard drive. This will help keep my site from
bogging down. If you just click the link, you will be downloading the
video everytime you view it. If you don't know what I'm talking about,
forget it and just click the link like regular. :)
