I only ran it a couple of times then had to sell it unfortunately. The engine blew up in my SUV at the same time that I went in for open-heart surgery, not a good month. I really hated to sell it but I had priorities at the time.
What little that I had run it, the thing was scary fast!
Somebody in Florida bought it but I can't remember his name right now. Ron Byrd (Racecraft Bearings fame) did a little tweaking on it once it got down there, that I know.
Yes, I miss that boat.

Leaky water pump. It happened in January and was dumping and anti-freeze water into the radiator. My wife drove the SUV home from work (that's where I had the heart attack at) and had added water before driving it home. It sat in the driveway for weeks until I could get outside to start it, that's when I found the cracked block.

sorry to hear about the tough times Ron. i'm sure it hurt to sell off a good rig like that. however, there's a whole new building season around the corner for us notherner's! maybe you should build an electric and come across the lake next year for the nambe FE nat's

I've got other projects going on. I built another .12 mono just for something to do and have a gas crackerbox on the building board that I need to get back to. I'm hitting a gas only race in a couple of weeks to see what I need to do to get it set up right as this is my first gas boat build and haven't seen any C-boxes in action yet in person.
I may have another .21 mono hull coming as I bid on one on eBay last week for the heck of it and will pull the parts out of my Speedmaster 21 if I win it. If I don't win it, no big deal. I might have thin the fleet anyway as I have a 7.5 Microburst that hasn't been run in a couple of years.

i've got projects too. i just hope i can finish them one day. for example...the 12 cell rigger that i purchased a year ago that still needs a turn fin and for some reason i haven't mounted the steering servo yet. also picked up a new mono for 6 cell offshore. this winter i'm getting another H&M hull for 12 cell offshore. and more 6 cell riggers. i'm going to have to save some pennies to make this all work. i made it through my first 9 years of this hobby with 4 boats. in the last two years i've accumulated somewhere around 10. it's going to be a busy build season here in the great white north.

I just remembered that after I built it that I did post some pix of it in here. mjmsport40 (sorry if I got your name wrong if I did) was working on an almost identical one plus there might have been some somewhere else on here.

i'm surprised i missed it, after you mentioned that you started the project i kept my eyes open for it. i didn't have internet access for a while so it might have been then. i saw the pic on rcflix.com and couldn't resist the urge to ask.

If you get back in there, look at ob nut's gallery as you'll see some videos of my other boats running with my name or my son Eric's. There's one group shot of us in there, I'm the fifth one from the left. The Sport 40 is sitting in the lower right of that shot.
