No, 'fraid not. Those things just weren't designed with any modifications in mind. They generally put in the cheapest components they can get, because they know they're not being seriously raced, just used as toys. Really, the only R/C vehicles that can be easily modified by changing motors, gears, or any individual parts are the kit-based cars.... :)

Best shot would be better batteries. Are you running nicads, alkaline, or nmh? Does the motor come apart? Are the brushes removable?

I wouldnt try that, those little things have crap peices. I actually took apart one of my tycos recently(because I was bored) I found the brushes cannot be removed, The servo is probably to weak to turn the thing at the high speed of a mod motor. If you take the motor apart you will have broken it for good. My suggestion is to stick with hobby type cars!

My buddy put a new motor in his to make it go faster. Not sure what name brand it was but he got it from toys r us so its niko or something like that. However most cars bought like that have a much smaller motor it was just chance that that one did fit in it and it used the standard 7.2 battery. That is something you dont see anymore there all using the 9.6v with AA batts. Anyway whats the point it was still so slow I can out run him with my T3 running backwards with a forward only ESC. No just kidding but its slow whats the point of putting a $30 motor in a $60 RTR Car?
