I'm looking at HPI's new micro RS4's,for me and my wife. I've been running gas for so long that I don't know what's good in electric any more. I am thinking about Futaba's MC230CR for an ESC, because it is cheap and really small.

Does anyone have any experience with this ESC?

For additional information I am planning on running a 5 cell battery pack. My charger handles 5 cells better than 4.

I have one and I am happy with it. Its small in size and works fine. I have been running a 19T speed gems for awhile on it with no problem with a 6 cell 1500mah packs. One thing thought for reverse you have to actualy put it in reverse twice. First time is brake second is reverse. I am not saying this is a bad thing I kind of like it but its different from my other ESC. I think its a great esc if your not wanting to run motors lower than 19T I would even run as low as 17T on it though.

My friend has that one running a Speed Gems 19T double and it's fine. The motor limit is 17 turns. Compact size is perfect for touring cars!

I still can't get over how incredibly small these Futaba ESCs are! They seem to work great, and I'd highly recommend it to ya. I might end up getting one for my 3rd string truck, my RC10T... ;)

If you like small, someone on HPI's boardjust replied to the same topic I have over there. Airtronics has the ES01 that is purpose bult for the Micro/Mini cars. It is 7/8"x11/16"x5/8". Tower has them for $25.

Wish the wires were a bit thicker though. I just upgraded the Tamiya plug to a Power Pole and it was HARD to tin.
