OK! i've narrowed it down to the traxxus rustler rtr and the rc10t3 rtr. the rc10t3 costs fifty bucks more. in your professional opinion, is there justification in spending the extra fifty on the rc10? will these two be the same performance stock? just want to learn on this one....

The T3 is coming from a company that has many national titles under its belt. So if you want all-out perfomance, go for the T3. For bashing, just get the rustler, but I bet, with a few upgrades like motor, that it could probly stand its ground on a track.

All depends on what you want it for.....bashing? TRAXXAS all the way. Racing? Can't go wrong with AE

I'd say AE. The T3RTR is a very nice race ready truck. You won't be disappointed!

I asked the same question to the off-road race club I belong to, all said the T3 RTR was the way to go.

Hope this helps!

I hae a T3 and it is the best and the RTR's come with a LRP esc so it is definately worth the $50. They also come with a nice Pavadis style body.

Hehehe, I would go with the t3 if i was you, even if you want a basher truck. it has a lot more performance then the rustler.

I've had both trucks, and I have to say I've been equally impressed by both. I think the major factor here is price. I had to put a couple hundred bucks into the rustler to get it to perform the way i wanted. It made me mad that I didn't buy the T3 to begin with.

Believe me, you WILL want to upgrade your truck. The TC3 already has most of the upgrades that you will want to put on your Rustler. You will be MUCH happier going with the T3. PLEASE TRUST ME I KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

i would say xxxt, heres why, its much newer and it wont be replaced soon,

and its so much more advacned its easy to work on and the suspeino is 10 times better, and its much more stable, you have to drive it to believe it.

also there is alot of aftermarket for it, and if you check out all of the nationals and stuff, xxx and xxxt's win almost everything!

Hey Stormperson,

How long was the Losi JRX-Pro out before the Jrx-Pro SE replaced it? That's right, a REAL short time.

Don't fool yourself, AE or Losi will put out new cars and trucks right after some of their buyers write a check. It happens.

Remember, the IFMAR Worlds are this year, don't think for a second that there won't be an X4 and a B4 or X4T and T4, maybe even a TC4 released early summer. I take that back, Losi's new truck would be the XXXXTTKINWALDFRANCSISXXXTXT... 4. The last T stands for Trinity I think. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

hi. ive been down this road before....rustler vs t3 choice. ive raced BOTH trucks at different times here and there. the rustler can hang with the t3s at our track,,,BUT....you need to keep in mind parts availability.even if track keeps trx parts the rear a-arm blocks on rustler is actually part of the tranny,,,,and t3 is seperate. t3 seems easier to repair in case of a race-related breakdown. ive never broken any rear a-arm blocks on my rustler tho(guess im lucky). http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif but the choice is entirely yours....we are here to advise and give our 2cents worth from our experiences. good luck on choosing your truck dude. http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/smile.gif

ya, parts is a big deal, if your track doesnt have parts for one car, then it doesnt matter. get the car that has parts aviable

also i think that they might release an upgraded version of it in the fall, that would make sense. but i dont think they will replace it. or maybe they will have a CR version of something, updated.

but i would not be surprised to a tc4 (i own the 3 and i love it)

or a b4, however the truck normally takes a little while longer to come out.

but back to the breakage factor, the rusler takes along time to fix, and the parts are more jumbled together. any race truck is much easier to fix. however the rusler is very durable out of the box, but due to the lack of upgrades, it cant be made more durable. really, well only in some areas.

I have both cars and I would advise you to go with the T3. The speed control it comes with is better and you will be able to upgrade it to a level beyond what you can do with the traxxas. Don't get me wrong I love my rustler and I beat it mercilessly and it always comes back for more but the T3 is a superior car. I've set them up with identical motors, ESC's and gear ratios and the Traxxas never wins the race. If you get the T3 you will eventually want to get a Metal gear servo. Either that or learn to drive without hitting things. Hope this helps.

Ok but why? And don't give me that just because BS. I want facts, hard evidence. Why you guys feel that the rustler is inferior.

Why follow when you can go your own direction.

If you want the hard facts get a issue of RCCA with either the Rustler in it and the T3 in it. What you are reading is all opinions and some facts. I had a T3...let me just say its an awsome truck and you can't go wrong with it (this is coming from a Losi guy) but i wanted something more. When i first saw the Losi XXXT i sold the T3 and got the Losi. Thats the best choice i ever made, and to you AE guys this is not a diss! LOL http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif I like the driving style of the XXXT over the T3. To me AE and Losi are just like driving styles.....it just depends on what feels good to you. Okay enough about Losi since this is not the topic of this thread. I don't know if you will concider this fact but you don't see many TRX Rustlers finish with AE's and Losi's. Am i right? But the ones that do have had a ton of money for hop-ups and so on. So look at it like this, do you want the RACE ready T3 that you don't have to spend alot of money on, or do you want the BACKYARD BASHER and spend alot of money on it to turn it into a Racer? Also not trying to diss on the guys with Traxxas trucks...lol but this is just my opinion, just read up on the 2 trucks and find out what works for you.

U Can take the Truck Out of the Race, but you can't take the Race out of the Truck.

Some differences are obvious. The tranny in the T3 is superior. It is time tested and is a better tranny period. the T3 is more tunable and there are more aftermarket parts, even a two speed tranny. There are also intangibles as in the suspension geometry. The T3 is faster bacause it handles better and gets greater traction because the suspension geometry and weight ratio is better. Besides, in this BB if every tells you that one product is better, its better. If you want a virtually indestructable car just to knock around the Rustler is fine. If you race and you want a contender go T3. Both are fine cars it just depends on what you want to do with them.

I have had a Traxxas Rustler for about a year now...In my opinion I would get the RC10T3 and pay the extra 50 bucks...because now I am going to get the RC10T3 in about 3 weeks http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/biggrin.gif...due to that a lot of parts I am breaking on my Rustler http://www.rccaraction.com/ubb/eek.gif

Think about it this way...how much money will it take to make the Rustler to perform as well as the T3?? duh...about $150...spend the extra 50 and you will save some money in the long run. The traxxas kit you mention has no ESC, nor is the motor that fast. The T3 is a race proven truck, has a great ESC and an awesome motor(compared to the Rustler) Buy your T3 from Hobby People...it only costs 214.99!!

Buy an E-Maxx and run over both the T3 and the Rustler. Then laugh and as you drive away doing wheelies.

Mantus you buttmunch...(no offense) He wants an ENTRY level car...the E-Maxx is not entry level...nor is it that great...My T3FT can beat an E-Maxx anyday...with an ol' trusty Orion Chrome RS...E-Maxx? Pfft...Anyone near Lawrencville NJ with Emaxx willing to race T3FT?? Thought so...

Ummmmmmmm Isky, you are kinda full of ourselves, are we? The E and the T3FT are 2 different beast and shouldn't be compared.

Get whichever truck makes you happy!

Isky, the E-Maxx is about as entry level as you can get. It is RTR, comes with everything you need except batteries and charger, has a prepainted body, and is designed for pure fun. If that isn't entry level than I don't know what is.
And I would put my E-Maxx against a T3 any day of the week. Because eventually I will run into that little truck and then it would be game over.
SNAP! CRACKLE! POP!

LOL Latex! He is right, the E is entery level in a CLASS OF ITS OWN! The T3 and E are 2 different trucks. The T3 is fast but when the E finaly gets to the little truck parts will be flyin! Its all good.
