i have thought of something that I want to run past you guys for I try it. well, in the 18b, and some ep 1/10 buggys, the body fits so tight the plugs actually scracth the paint off of the inside, so I was thinking, couldn't you put a thin coat of liquid mask on the inside, and it would form a rubbery barrier for the paint? i have tryed different protective coating stuff and they dont seem to work. I am concerned about the mask haveing an adverse affect on the paint.
Any Thoughts?

cant imagine it hurting to try.. sounds like a good idea. I doubt it will lift the paint, as long as its cured.

i will try it on the body that is already starting to get scrathed, so if it kills the paint I won't be losing anything. i will let you know how it goes

You can just put a piece of masking or scotch tape on the area that is coming in contact with the chassis too.

Electrical tape works very well as long as the paint in the area is a darker color.

I always use Shoe Goo around the body holes

yeah but I painted my body bright orange, so electrical tape wont work, shoe goo, I can never get a thin coat where I want it.

I've used aluminum tape to protect the body around the post holes, exhaust, and other areas that get hammered.

liquid mask would rub off... it's designed to stay on temporarily and be removed easily... aluminum tape works great and shoe goo with some scrap lexan works well too.... (use shoe goo to stick an extra layer of lexan where the abrasion happens)

Bingo! Instant heat sheid. Also protects well against wear and nitro fuel. ;)
Try to use 30 min epoxy, it’s very thin and it won’t affect the paint background because it dry clear. ;)

Or, use clear strapping tape(stuff with little strips of rope inside). I use it on the bodies under light colors cuz its see thru.
