I live in Australia and it says that it is availible Summer 2001. When is that over there.
For more info on the Novak Brushless motor visit http://www.teamnovak.com/products/MOTOR/motor.htm
I am thinking about getting the Losi XXX-T Francis Edition, transmitter, charger, battery and wait till the Novak Brushless Motor to come out. Is this smart?

Built in ESC? Where did you hear that? It comes in a PACKAGE DEAL, because you cannot use the types of ESC's we are using now, because you need AC current.

the novak brushless will ot come out for a long time, but you can get brushless motors from many other companys, modeltech int eh UK makes some awsome systems for the for cars and the E-maxx will make go 60mph with a double system, and there designed specifacally for car but cost about $400 for motor and ESC! but there are other companies too there's an entire world of speed that we dont really know about. Maxxtraxx has a good brushless motor forum on their site. You may wanna check that out

just think about it. You won't ever have to replace the thing! That's worth it right there. Then add in the fact that it needs zero maintainance... Whoa... ;)

NO! The price is not alright. You could buy 2 Losi XXX-T's for that.

Those who think $400 is too much, please add up what it costs to race a season or two for motors. Lathe, brushes, comms, motor spray, springs, time doing maintenence, etc... I have the Modeltech BL for the E-Maxx, and it rules. alot better runtimes, faster, and no maintenence. But to the guy who said 60mph is WRONG. So far, the Maxx has been clocked at about 49mph, SINGLE. The double motor is NOT faster, just more torque. Go here if you would like more info. http://pub13.ezboard.com/fmaxximumtraxxasfrm65

Obi and Usagi,
I felt what I found out should be shared with anyone intersted in the topic of brushless motors. Many have been asking about the prices, so I simply posted them.
Don't know why you're getting upset about it?

If its one thread or two ok, but you reopened all the brushless threads and posted the same message.
Thats why people became upset.

Anyone care or think about this...
-the brushless motors will most likely not be ROAR legal.
-the size will be comparable to a 540 motor, which would not fit in 99.9% of the 12th scales, or some molded tub style chassis such as the XXX-S without cutting the chassis ?
-just some thought...
-does anyone know if there will be different winds ?

I have a suggestion: Stop worrying about everyone else and post something with content. That would be a real nice change.

This thread, and all the others he brought to the top are EXCELLENT threads.
Why do you even care anyway ? You the thread police or something ?
boy am i confused now! I am not the only one crabbing about him. so please stop thinking I am causing problems!

Model tech has brushless motors that are the same size as regular motors, and so should fit pretty much anything.

Also, seeing how I don't race at roar events, I could care less what is legal to them.

I read just now that Novaks BL motor, wont be ready until June 2002. Not that I was going to buy one. but it gives everyone more time to save your cash for one. Info at www.teamnovak.com

When I was at the Chicago Hobby Show they had one in a XXX in a case. They had the rear motor guard off too. I am not sure if that was because the motor is to big to fit in there or just to show it better. Either way to me it looked bigger/longer than a 540. It was more like the size of the Emaxx motors. Just my .02 cents.
