I need to replace the pinion gear on my RC10 and I don't want to order the wrong pitch pinion gear, how can I figure out what it is. Any help would be appreciated. I got the car second hand and I don't have the instructions and I doubt that the spur gear that is on it is stock.

Well I think its the amount of teeth that could fit in a 1 inch space if in a line??
As for the RC10 I would say its 48 pitch.

Just take the gear you are unsure about and go to the hobby shop and ask for a 48 pitch a 64. Then take your gear and one from the hobby shop and run the teeth together. If it fits like perfect then thats the pitch. Sorry kinda a bad way of expaining it. It will probobly be 48 pitch.

I agree, I'd lay odds it's a 48 pitch, but to be sure you should take a pinon with you & compare it to some gears at the shop(particularly of the same number of teeth) to verify..... :)

I've never seen a RC10 with anything other than 48 pitch gears.
