depends on how long your races are... what vehicle you are driving, and what gearing you are using....

but if i had to guess... you can run a Super hot motor (8-9 turn) in a 4 minute heat and still make the tone...

peace out... :)

I was just reading the TB evo test, and it said they ran matched 2400s with a 10x2 and a tall gear, and made it with time to spare.

As Howie stated, it really depends on a number of things, & also the size & layout of your local track. For really big, high-speed tracks, you end up needing the extra speed a low turn motor offers, but if you have a lot of tight technical sections, then you may not be able to take advantage of that extra speed. The tighter the track is, the milder the motor you need(which is why there are some tracks where stocks actually hold the track records). Now, on say, middle of the road tracks(that have decent straights & some techinical stuff), the kind of wind you need will actually be fine for 2400's, really the only motors that might be too much to make time with are sub-10 turn ones. I've run on some decent sized tracks with a 10 turn & 2400's, & I haven't had any problems making run time(& finish strong), but on a few really huge tracks, I'd need more motor & then 3000's would become neccessary. Can you give us a general idea of what your track is like, & maybe the average lap times for mod class cars?...... :)

oh its a parking lot track me and my friends make...about 10 spaces widthwise X 2 car lenghts spaces big. one long straight away and a lot of twisty turns, I want to get used to a fast mod motor before I head for a real race. Right now im running a 13x2 with either a pro3 or tc3 and have a lot of power to spare after 5 min.
